The following Preserves in Lyme will be closed Monday through Friday, 1/2 hour before sunrise to sunset, from Wednesday, November 20 through Tuesday, December 24, 2019 except to licensed hunters with valid consent forms from the Town of Lyme Open Space Coordinator:
- Beebe Preserve
- Chestnut Hill Preserve
- Eno Preserve
- Hand Smith
- Jewett Preserve
- Mount Archer Woods
- Pickwick’s Preserve
- Plimpton Preserve
- Slawson Preserve
These preserves, owned by the Town of Lyme or the Lyme Land Trust, will be open on Saturdays and Sundays during this hunting period as no hunting is allowed there on weekends. The hunting program is fully subscribed.
Please be aware that hunting is allowed on Nehantic State Forest and Selden Neck every day except Sunday. On some private properties hunting is allowed on Sunday, also.
Wear bright colors while walking in the woods from September 15 to January 31.
