Bottume,Reeds landing at TownHallThe 4th Annual “Celebrating Lyme’s Beauty” Exhibition, sponsored by the Lyme Land Conservation Trust and the Lyme Art Association, will be shown in the Goodman Gallery of the Lyme Art Association. A festive opening reception will be held on July 22, 2016 from 5-7 pm. On exhibit will be landscapes created in June 2016 during the “Celebrating Lyme’s Beauty” Paint-Out. The Paint-Out event continues the plein air tradition established by the early American Impressionists who founded the Lyme Art Colony over a hundred years ago.

Painting: “Reeds Landing” by George F. Bottume c.1850.

The landscapes will highlight the historic and natural beauty of the Hamburg Bridge Historic District, and the the Lyme Preserves that surround it: the Hemlocks and the Czikowsky Preserve.

This event is a fundraiser for the Lyme Land Conservation Trust, with a portion of each sale donated to the Trust to further its mission to preserve Lyme’s natural beauty for the public benefit.
