SUMMARY:Insects and their Amazingosity with John Himmelman
DESCRIPTION:John Himmelman loves bugs. Join him on a tour of insects that have caught his interest over the years\, from childhood safaris to writing books about them. No doubt you’ll meet many you’ve come across yourselves. Which insect has the worst sting\, and where’s the worst place to get stung? What’s with those ladybugs in my house? How do you get a dragonfly to pose for a photo? Or a spider to dance? Himmelman’s photos accompany light-hearted\, educational stories of the little creatures who share our planet\, and yards. This program is recommended for ages 10 and up. \nJohn Himmelman is the author and illustrator of many nature books for children and adults. After the program he will sign books. Books will be available for purchase \nTo register: programreg@lymepl.org \nThe program is co-sponsored by the Lyme Pollinator Pathway\, the Lyme Land Trust\, and the Lyme Public Library.

SUMMARY:Family Trail Time with Tori–Gillette Castle
DESCRIPTION:Meet at the Hadlyme Ferry Parking lot on Ferry Rd\, Lyme (not Old Lyme) We will begin the walk along the CT River. There is a gentle inclined pathway to get up to the Castle to see the beautiful view. We may get our feet wet. \nJoin Tori and family on the 4th Sunday of every month for a “mile-ish” hike geared towards families with children under 5\, but no age limit! \nKindly email vharris1391@gmail.com to register. \nTori is a Mom of two littles – Kade\, 4 yrs\, and Quinn\, 1 yr. Hiking and wandering in the local preserves\, has really given her family the safe space to let Kade run loose and has a calming effect on Quinn. Working full time\, volunteering in many organizations and finding time to enjoy the outdoors with the whole family\, can be tough\, but it is worth it! \nFor more information about the preserves and directions.
